Dive into the AquaNewts story

What makes AquaNewts special?

AquaNewts Swim Academy prides itself on a 1:3 ratio for our group lessons; a ratio that is usually branded as a private lesson.

My dream after several years in many swim school leadership, teaching and support roles, at many great independent swim schools (both here and abroad - from Asia to Down Under!), popular swimming clubs and leisure centres is to provide what may be considered a luxury option on par/or below surrounding competitor prices!

This allows for us to deliver lessons that are not only up to the safety and teaching standards of our Governing Bodies at STA & Swim England, but also with the AquaNewts charm. We promise that at all of our quiet venues that we have exclusive use of during our sessions, we will go above and beyond not only to prioritise Customer Care but to ensure that our lessons are engaging, progressive and FUN.

Our teachers are minimum Level 2 qualified with further skills relating to Safeguarding, Lifesaving & Teaching... meaning that not only are you/your swimmers kept safe, but also taught to the highest possible standard.

Our approaches and FUNdamentals are simple; this leads to the 'Highest Achievement' for every learner - whether your an adult beginner or an advanced junior getting ready to take your next steps in your competitive journey.

So with that being said, we can't wait to see you at the pool!

Yours Swimmingly,

Ben 🐟

Our passion for the water

AquaNewts was born from a deep-seated belief that swimming is more than just a skill; it's a life-saving ability and a source of immense joy. Our founder, deeply involved in the local Leeds community, saw a need for high-quality, inclusive swim education. We're passionate about fostering water confidence, safety, and a lifelong love for swimming, ensuring every person has the opportunity to experience the freedom of the water.

Swimming for everyone

We truly love teaching everyone, from the tiniest babies discovering the water for the first time, to confident children honing their strokes, and even nervous adults looking to overcome fears. Babies develop crucial motor skills and water safety awareness in our nurturing environment. Children build confidence, discipline, and a strong foundation for future aquatic activities. Adults find a supportive space to conquer anxieties and embrace a new, empowering skill. Every student at AquaNewts receives personalised attention, tailored instruction, and a fun, progressive learning journey.

The AquaNewts difference

AquaNewts stands out in Leeds for our unique blend of expert instruction and a deeply personal approach. Unlike larger, more impersonal schools, we pride ourselves on smaller class sizes, allowing for greater individual feedback and a quicker progression rate. Our instructors are not just highly qualified; they are passionate mentors who create a vibrant, encouraging, and safe learning atmosphere. We utilise innovative teaching methods, making lessons engaging and effective, ensuring every splash is a step towards confidence and mastery.

"AquaNewts made learning to swim a joyful experience for my little one. The instructors are fantastic and truly care!"
